LGUs aid tobacco growers with proceeds from RA 8240

THE different Local Government Units (LGUs) in the province have allotted the biggest portion of their total shares from the collection of excise taxes on locally manufactured cigarettes, pursuant to Republic Act (RA) 8240, as amended by RA 10351, for the benefit of their tobacco farmers.

NTA technical papers presented in commodity review
THE Farm Technology and Services Department (FTSD) of the National Tobacco Administration presented three technical papers in the 2016 Commodity Review on rice and rice-based farming systems and tobacco on September 6. The papers were presented along with 12 others from the different member agencies of the Ilocos Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research and Development Consortium (ILAARRDEC) in Batac City.   [full story]
