The Farm Technology and Services Department (FTSD) of the National Tobacco Administration held a webinar on technical reporting for agency’s extension workers and researchers on May 31, June 2 and 4.

The three-day event enhanced the writing skills of the staff and trained them in preparing technical reports and other project reports relative to their functions in their respective branch offices or departments.

The speakers were Dr. Dennis D. Raga, a Science teacher of Pecos High School in Texas, USA, and Leonora P. Nudo, Science Research Specialist of the NTA Industrial Research Department.

In his message, NTA Administrator/CEO Robert Victor G. Seares, Jr. emphasized the importance of good writing skills in making technical reports on programs, projects and activities.

“A well-written report achieves better understanding of our activities, which is a key to maximum support and participation from our farmers and other stakeholders,” Administrator Seares said.

Acting Deputy Administrator for Operations Engr. Cesario G. Sambrana urged the staff to enhance their skills in technical reporting as they pursue their various field activities, thus making transfer of technology simple and more comprehensible to the end-users.

FTSD Manager Imelda N. Rin᷈en awarded certificates of completion to the participants via virtual presentation from the FTSD office in Batac City.“I hope this writeshop will empower our extension workers and researchers with enhanced skills in writing technical reports about the programs and projects of the agency,” Rin᷈en said.
