The staff from the Farm Technology and Services Department (FTSD) prepared a one-hour video in lieu of a program party to celebrate the retirement of their manager Imelda N. Rin᷈en, on July 31.

The video included a recording of the traditional Salamat Mabuhay tribute by the staff with songs and dances, and messages from Administrator/CEO Robert Victor G. Seares, Jr. and greetings from her family and friends.

Other congratulatory messages from her NTA family included those from the Branch Managers, Department Managers, and FTSD staff.

Rin᷈en’s hosting of the Tobacco Growers of the Year awarding ceremonies on July 29 was her last official function as a Department Manager. She was appointed officer in charge in July 2015 and got her promotion two years later.

Rin᷈en served the government for 42 years: eight years at the then Philippine Tobacco Research and Training Center (PTRTC) and 34 years at the National Tobacco Administration (NTA). She has received several awards, among them Outstanding Supervisor, Division Chief Category; Best in Presentation Skills, Individual and Group Category, Training for NTA Generalists; Best in Training Design, Training for NTA Generalists; and as co-worker in the paper that won 3rd Place, Development Category, 24th Regional Symposium on R&D Highlights; 3rd Place, Best Poster Award, 8th Regional R&D Symposium; and 2nd Place, Best Technology for Dissemination Award, 7th Regional R&D Symposium.
