NTA Ilocos Norte distributed free vegetable seeds and day-old chicks to 75 farmer beneficiaries of the agency’s Gulayan at Manukan sa Barangay (GMB) project.
Each farmer gets one GMB module comprising 1 pack of seeds of various vegetables with organic fertilizers, 25 heads of Sasso chicks, with booster, starter, grower and pack of vitamins.
NTA Ilocos Norte Branch Manager Luzviminda U. Padayao handed modules to nine farmers during the launching of the distribution at the NTA Branch Office in Batac City on September 27.
Six of the farmers are from Banna, and the rest are from Sarrat, Batac City and Dingras, Ilocos Norte.
The Branch Office brought the rest of the modules on the same day to 66 more farmer beneficiaries in separate distribution sites in Pinili, Badoc, and Banna.
This is the third distribution of modules by the Ilocos Norte Branch since the start of the implementation the project last year. The Branch office distributed 40 modules during the launching of the program as part of intervention program for food sufficiency at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and 60 modules in the next cropping season.
