Tobacco growers in La Union received P14.479 million production assistance from the National Tobacco Administration under its Tobacco Contract Growing System (TCGS) project for quality tobacco production for crop year 2021-2022. NTA La Union, headed by Branch Manager Dr. Giovanni B. Palabay, held a ceremonial release of the production assistance to 23 cluster leaders of the total 1,591 TCGS farmer cooperators in the province on December 1, held at the NTA Branch Office in Bauang, La Union.
After the distribution representatives from Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) Region 1 headed by Ms. Florence Agpawa, PEO Supervisor had a presentation on insurance coverage for crops (tobacco and rice) and livestock (cattle).
