Administrator And CEO
The NTA Governing Board elected and confirmed BELINDA S. SANCHEZ as the new and first female President and CEO of the National Tobacco Administration following her appointment by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on November 21.
Sanchez is a young achiever in the corporate arena and a seasoned Certified Public Accountant whose expertise included analytical and cash flow planning and management.
She is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the University of Sto. Tomas.
Her father, Mayor Benjamin Sarmiento, is a former member of the NTA Governing Board, a farmer leader and a former local chief executive of San Juan, Ilocos Sur.
Upon her assumption as the Administrator and CEO of NTA, she committed to ensure that the regulatory agency will continue to fulfill its mandate to improve the living conditions and raise the quality of life of the tobacco farmers.
Department of Agriculture Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban administered the oath of office to the newly appointed NTA Administrator and Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the NTA Governing Board, BELINDA SARMIENTO-SANCHEZ, on December 1 at the DA Central Office in Quezon City.
