NTA Administrator and CEO Belinda S. Sanchez joined the Regulation Department in the inspection of cigarettes and imported tobacco raw materials at a cigarette warehouse of two tobacco companies in Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Zambales on January 10.
Those inspected were 1,964 cases of cigarettes owned by Seng Hong Subic Company for transshipment to Vietnam and imported tobacco cut fillers owned by TM8 Enterprises Incorporated are for local cigarette production.
The inspection of tobacco manufacturing and trading firms, plants and warehouses is a regular function of the tobacco regulatory agency to ensure transparency and to closely monitor the arrival of cigarettes and imported tobacco raw materials in the country.
With Administrator Sanchez during the inspection were Jerymy Ann E. Feria, Tobacco Production and Regulation Assistant II of the NTA Regulation Department and Hazel Anne M. Inguillo of the Office of the Administrator.
To institutionalize the inspection of tobacco manufacturing and trading firms, plants and warehouses, the NTA had created a composite team composed of the Office of the Administrator, Regulation Department, and Industrial Research Department.
