NTA Candon has started this week a series orientation seminars for the farmer-cooperators of its Tobacco Contract Growing System (TCGS) project for crop year 2021-2022 in all tobacco-growing municipalities of the second district of Ilocos Sur.
Among the areas visited by the branch office for the orientation held on November 23 were tobacco-growing communities of Sigay, Del Pilar, and Narvacan. According to Branch Chief Agriculturist Adonis D. Lazo, the branch office has already covered 10 of the 22 tobacco-growing municipalities in the district.
The seminars on tobacco production and various projects of the agency are in coordination with the local governments of the 20 tobacco-growing municipalities in the district.
