NTA Candon completed the inventory of tobacco seedlings of farmer cooperators, comprising six modules, of the Improved Tobacco Seedlings Production project in Candon City, Burgos and Sta. Maria, in Ilocos Sur on November 26.
According to Chief Agriculturist Adonis D. Lazo, the six modules are expected to produce more than 340,000 tobacco seedlings ready for transplanting to the farmer-cooperators of its Tobacco Contract Growing System (project) project in the second district. The seedlings will be given free to the tobacco growers.
Lazo, along with members of the Branch Inventory Team which included acting Administrative Officer V Orlando Galdones, and Project Coordinator Oliva C. Galdones, visited the seedling production sites of ITSP seedling growers Susana Cudiamat of Allangigan 2nd, Candon City; Jerry Annaguey of Sto. Tomas Candon City; Jasmin Antolin of Dirdirig Burgos; and Isabelo Calzo Jr. of Ag-agrao, Sta.Maria.
The Branch Office has 71 modules for seedling growers in its area for crop year 2021-2022.
