THE National Tobacco Administration was awarded with a Certificate of Recognition for successfully completing the critical onboarding activities in the TRADENET Platform during the 3rd National Single Window – Technical Working Group (NSW-TWG) Virtual Meeting held on 31 August 2021.

NTA is one among the first 10 Trade Regulatory Government Agencies (TRGAs) which converted into online document processing.

The NSW-TWG was created under Executive Order No. 482, s. 2005 also known as the NSW Task Force for Cargo Clearance, comprising of 45 TRGAs. The group was further enhanced into a NSW system, now called the TradeNet Portal in line with Republic Act No. 11032 (An Act Promoting Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Delivery of Government Services).

Under the TradeNet.gov.ph portal, NTA has implemented the automation of all transactions, including payment system and facilitated the approval of import licenses and import/transshipment commodity clearances.

Prior to the completion of onboarding activities with the TradeNet, the NTA has already adopted interim online filing and processing of commodity clearances via electronic mail since the outbreak of COVID-19 on March 2020.

According to Regulation Department Manager Atty. Rohbert A. Ambros, the NTA and Tradenet Secretariat is now wrapping up the pilot onboarding of 5 tobacco companies, refining in the process some minor details of the NTA’s TradeNet dashboard for easy access and user friendly applications.

10. Bureau of Customs (BOC).
