The National Tobacco Administration (NTA) teamed up with Civil Service Commission (CSC) and conducted an Orientation Workshop by the CSC to NTA-HRMPSB members and other participants on a virtual platform using Microsoft teams on August 26, 2022.
Regular Members and Alternate Representatives of the Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board (HRMPSB), Human Resource Management Officers, Administrative Officers, Department Managers, Division Chiefs, and Chief Agriculturists from NTA Central Office and Branch Offices participated in this successful orientation on ORA OHRA.
Roderick J. Romualdo, Director II, CSC -Field Office, Office of the President discussed the highlights of the 2017 Omnibus Rules on Appointments and Other Human Resource Actions (ORA OHRA) as a resource person.
The said activity seeks to aid and equip the HRMPSB Members with the necessary knowledge to efficiently perform the task of assisting the Administrator/CEO, as the Appointing Officer/Authority, in the judicious and objective selection of candidates for appointment in the Agency, in accordance with the Agency’s approved Merit Selection Plan (MSP).
According to NTA Administrator/CEO Robert Victor G. Seares Jr, in his message, this activity reflects NTA’s steadfast commitment to fill up vacant positions in the NTA. “As of July 9, 2022, we have caused the publication of 78 vacant positions. And as of today, another 13 vacant positions have opened for filling up,” he said.
Seares mentioned that to speed up the Recruitment-Selection-Placement (RSP) process, the HRMPSB Secretariat has started the initial evaluation and assessment of the applicants vis-à-vis their minimum Qualification Standards.
Fast-tracking the filling up of these positions is vital to enhance the manpower capability of the Agency.
