NTA conducted an orientation on the selection and promotion process and policies on appointments, with Roderick J. Romualdo, Director II of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) – National Capital Region, as resource speaker, at the NTA Central Office in Quezon City on November 25.
Participants were members of the NTA Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board (HRMPSB) and the Department Managers at the Central Office.
This is in line with the preparations of the selection board in the deliberation of applications for various vacant positions in the agency.
According to Perla C. Manzon, Officer in Charge of the Administrative Department and HRMPSB Chair, the first batch of applicants to the 74 vacant positions for promotion or appointment are expected to be screened by the selection board on December.
NTA Administrator/CEO Robert Victor G. Seares Jr., in his message, enjoined the newly constituted HRMPSB to accelerate the filling-up of vacant plantilla positions to enhance manpower capability of the agency for its upcoming projects this cropping season, and to boost employment in government.
Also present in the orientation were the two Deputy Administrators, Benedicto M. Savellano (Support Services) and Dr. Roberto R. Bonoan (Operations). Savellano exercises oversight over the HRMPSB.
With Manzon in the HRMPSB are Dinah E. Pichay, Manager of Internal Audit Service, vice-chairperson, as representative of the appointing authority; Ophelia T. Gonzales, Human Resource Management Officer IV, who is directly responsible for recruitment, selection and placement; Neyo E. Valdez, Public Relations Officer V, who represents the NTA Employees Association, for second level positions; and Carmelita V. Albano, Senior Bookkeeper, who represents first level positions.
