NTA Administrator/CEO Robert Victor G. Seares Jr administered the oath of office of newly promoted and appointed employees in a virtual group induction held on October 28.
The promotions include positions for two division chief levels. They were given to Adonis D. Lazo as the new Chief Agriculturist and head of Operations of the Candon Branch, and Felisa D. Aurellano, as Chief Tobacco Production and Regulation Officer (TPRO) and head of the Production Support Services Division of the Farm Technology and Services Department in Batac City.
Also inducted into higher positions were Marivic G. Espolong, from Financial Analyst III to Budget Officer IV of the Finance Department; Divina D. Pagdilao, from Agriculturist II to Supervising TPRO of Ilocos Norte Branch; Winiefreda V. Fangon, from TPRO I to Cashier III of Candon Branch; Saturnino A. Agatep, from TPRO III to Senior TPRO of Ilocos Norte Branch; Marilene V. Sansano, from Secretary I to Budget Officer II of the Finance Department; Elmerante A. Ginez, from Agriculturist I to Cashier II of Cagayan Branch.
Three other extension workers were promoted to TPRO III: Romel E. Calautit (Ilocos Norte), Ambrocio R. Nisperos Jr. (La Union), and Ruby A. Dacanay (La Union).
The new Legal Officer of the agency Atty. Jun Fred V. Parado, Attorney V, was the highest ranked officer in the set of newly appointed staff for the virtual induction of the agency. The office of the Legal Officer is under the Office of the Administrator at the Central Office in Quezon City.
Two of the newly inducted regular employees are also from the Central Office, namely, Cyrus Raymond C. Olivenza, Science Research Specialist II of the Industrial Research Department; and Raymund M. Marzan, Reproduction Machine Operator II of the Administrative Department.
The others are from the Branch Offices: Nasser John F. Ragasa, TPRO Il, and Liezl Margarette R. Guzman, Computer Operator II, of the Vigan Branch; Aryann Pamela G. Sangil, Secretary I of La Union Branch; Leo C. Rante, Agriculturist I of Candon Branch; Manuel M. Delfin Jr., TPRO I of Pangasinan Branch; Leazyl V. Casauran, Agriculturist I of Ilocos Norte Branch; and Jayson Darwin T. Leones, Driver II of the Isabela Branch.
All the promotions and appointments were approved by the Civil Service Commission in separate issuances.
In his message, Administrator Seares said that concomitant to the positions given to the employees is the chance to serve the country, especially in these challenging times. “You deserve that position you are holding now and take pride being part of the NTA family.”
The Administrator has ordered in January the Administrative Department to accelerate the filling-up of vacant positions to enhance the manpower capability of the agency for its upcoming projects under the Sustainable Tobacco Enhancement Program, and to boost employment in the government.
The first ever virtual induction in the agency was witnessed by Deputy Administrator for Support Services Benedicto M. Savellano, who has oversight function of the Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board.
