The National Tobacco Administration (NTA) Internal Quality Auditors (IQA) Team attended the training course on ISO 19011:2018, re: Guidelines on Auditing Management Systems with Orientation on the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Standards on April 25-27, 2022 via Zoom.
The seminar-workshop, conducted virtually by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), is designed to prepare and equip the 25 members of the NTA-IQA Team with the necessary information to effectively conduct QMS, audits according to the internationally recognized best practice techniques for ISO 9001:2015.
The training also provided the participants with an overview of the key requirements and benefits of the ISO 9001:2015 audit application to manage quality and drive continual improvement. Also included in the training course were the identification of the aims and benefits of an ISO audit and interpretation of ISO 19011:2019 auditing requirements for audit application.
ISO 9001 and ISO 19011 are standards that both aim to develop an effective management system that helps an organization maintain quality services to the customers. In general, ISO 19011 focuses on management systems while ISO 9001 centers specifically on quality management systems.
According to Dinah E. Pichay, IQA Team Leader and the Manager of Internal Audit Service, the training is also in preparation for the internal quality audit of the NTA QMS in July.
