The National Tobacco Administration, through the Market Research and Development Division (MRDD) of the Industrial Research Department joined the Livestock Expo Philippines 2022 at the World Trade Center Manila, Pasay City on August 24-26, 2022. The expo, hosted by the Department of Agriculture, linked more than 200 exhibitors throughout the world.
NTA showcased the role of the agency in the development of the tobacco industry in the agri-industrial exhibit through its booth display of the tobacco dust, tobacco extracts, and other uses of tobacco such as tissue holders, fans, gift bags, and notebooks, among others. Flyers about the agency as an information campaign were also included in the three-day exhibit.
Dir. Danilo C. Trongco, of the NTA Governing Board, served as one of the speakers during the Aquaculture Conference. He discussed the “Tobacco Dust Plus: Biotoxicant cum Lab-lab Growth Enhancer for Bangus and Freshwater Fishes in Luzon.” Other featured speakers were from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Seaweed Industry Association of the Philippines (SIAP), Philippines Association of Fish Producers, Inc. (PAFPI), and ADM Animal Nutrition Philippines. Mayor Arthur E. Espi of the Municipality of Bantayan, Cebu also joined the conference.
NTA’s participation in the expo aims to enhance capabilities, build synergistic relationships among sectors, and mobilize resources for the development of the tobacco industry and for the benefit of the tobacco farmers and other industry stakeholders.
Livestock Philippines 2022 highlighted innovations and shared diverse perspectives, knowledge, and experiences to help boost the livestock industry in the Philippines which is aligned with DA programs to increase opportunities for livestock farmers in the country.
