NTA joined the Department of Agriculture, along with other attached agencies and corporations, in the celebration of the 2022 World Food Day on October 17 at the DA Central Office Grounds in Diliman, Quezon City.
This year’s theme: “Leave NO ONE behind. Better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life” is relevant to the various programs undertaken by the department to ensure everyone, everywhere, has access to safe and nutritious food.
In her message, Senator Cynthia A. Villar, chair of the Senate’s Committee on Agriculture, Food and Agrarian Reform, emphasized the need to adapt measures that would promote sustainable development especially in the rural communities.
“We have to support our farmers improve their competitiveness and earn more, otherwise they will not go on with their farming. We have to move them out of poverty and with that ultimately, we will be happy. Mawala na lahat, huwag lang ang pagkain ng mga Pilipino,” said Senator Villar.
