NTA Cagayan distributed vegetable seeds and free-range chicken (Sasso) and other inputs to 12 farmer-cooperators of the Gulayan at Manukan sa Barangay Project in two locations, Barangay Battung in Tuao and Barangay Masical in Baggao, Cagayan on September 7.
The beneficiaries are the 12 tobacco farmers whose tobacco areas were affected by freak “rains” early this year.According to Branch Manager Dr. Corazon R. Riazonda, the project promotes diversified backyard gardening and free-range chicken raising as a source of additional income for the tobacco farmers.
With Manager Riazonda during the distribution were Alicia A. Malab, Supervising TPRO; Engr. Elmerante A. Ginez, Cashier II; and Engr. Orlando Arugay, TPRO I and Acting Area Supervisor.
